.NET Fiddle Ideas

  1. FileStream Practice

In order to practice streaming files and reading from files to demonstrate well written code, you need the ability to upload at least a .txt file to work with. How about you allow .txt files to be uploaded for this purpose?

  2. Tag and Browse existing Fiddles

It would be very useful to be able to search for existing fiddles under a particular tag. Like 'Rx" fiddles.

  3. Add support for "Export to visual studio"

Add exporting the fiddles externally to visual studio.

  4. Add new files to fiddle "project" expecially the global.asax.cs

This is especially valuable with MVC fiddle type as one cannot add additional views or define their own routing.

  5. Include Unity 3D's "UnityEngine" Library for C#.

Include the UnityEngine Library so we can test Unity C# scripts.

  6. Allow multiple files for Console projects

In many cases I'd love to be able to have multiple files in a single fiddle so I don't have to throw all my classes in a single file and thus making it harder to read/understand.

Being able to have many files would greatly benefit explaining complex problems/scenarios.

  7. Add command line args

Please add the ability so we can pass custom args to the Program's Main method just like you can on http://www.ideone.com

  8. Allow at least 2 views for MVC examples

It would be nice to see form submits pass through a controller method to another view. Currently I'm just throwing an exception to see passed values (https://dotnetfiddle.net/jZQKsM).

  9. Allow user input features such as "Console.ReadKey()" etc

Was just trying to run through the c# tutorial and realised the fiddler doesn't allow you to run code with Console.Read etc. Would be a nifty feature :)

  10. Culture

Set Culture of the thread to the same as the browser.
This way the client gets the same date formating as his computer..

  12. Support For Akka.NET

Currently, dotNetFiddle throws when trying to use Akka.NET.
There is an error message saying that some methods in JSON.NET are missing.
We would love to have the ability to run live Akka samples from our docs site.

  14. Allow downloading source code

Sometimes it'd be helpful to easily download the source code of a dotnetfiddle paste, either a single file or the whole paste (e.g. all files from a MVC "project")

  16. FSharp return value printout

It'd be nice if the FSharp script template would print out return values, especially since those used to FSI expect it, and the C# script template does.

  19. Please allow to change platform target to either x86 or x64

Any CPU won't allow you to load native dependencies e.g. SQLite. If this doesn't open security holes, please give users the option to specify platform target to be x86, x64 or Any CPU.
